TEETH

This is a page where i post things. This page is a continuation. It starts at the start. The top is the past and the bottom is the present. Like reverse knitting.
Post-1: The first one
I wanted to make a first post asap because i want to delete everything else asap. I'm really sick and tired of the platforms i use now and feel that i find less and less joy visiting my computer nowadays because of this. This is my main reason. I will keep my blogging format in plain html because this best suits me. It's easy and breezy. This will most probably change in the future. Because i will learn new things and edit my site accordingly. But most of these things will become apparent as soon as they happen. i feel like this medium is the perfect way to schizo post without me being annoying online. because people can choose to visit and leave this page whenever. See this as a tappestry of things im currently into. I also have poor grammar.
post-2:Angry dream
Today i woke up angry. Not for a full morning but for at least a minute or two. This was the result of my dream. In this dream i was furious i wanted to smash a window and felt like a wasps nest. So when i opened my eyes i was still filled with wasps. I decided to play video games the rest of the day. To calm down and also to do something simple and fullfilling. this year is the year after all. I was thinking of an image that felt like today. An image that was already on my computer. After sleuthing in my archive i found this image.

Little Adol Christin of the Ys franchise. A stubborn little guy just running around and kicking the shit out of everyone while making meaningfull connections with people. A true act first think later type of guy with a heart of gold. A good combination! Aspire to be like Adol. Run around bumping into trouble until trouble gets out of your way. Help the people who can't help themselves.
This is written later in the day. Still on post 2. I donno what to do. Feeling paralyzed by the amount of things i can do but also feel like there is nada to do. feeling up for a challenge but it needs to be oustide of the house. the only thing i really do outside is going inside. Movies, coffee, buying a book or game or dvd. I dont really now if i can do a free hobby on my own that is outside. i could take my drawing stuff on the go but that feels so performative. Like who does that? Maybe i'm just too judgemental for these kind of activities. Watching all these people online makes me think about being filmed everywhere i go. Like i can't really do anything without thinking how it looks. Not that i feel like being watched but more about how i present myself and my activities to make them look appealing. Everything i do these days seem to be in service of jealousy. Everything i participate in is about making someone else feel like i spent my time whortwhile. i'm losing the ability to just do something for myself.
I spent most of this day inside. Fiddling with my page and making various tweaks. My original idea was a kind of a Prof.Dr. style of page. But after a while i got kind of bored with this form. Although i still like the plain html look. It's so anti sleek and kind of ugly. The default blue for links always baffled me. Now the color is hardcoded into me but if i think about it blue seems like an odd choice. Why not something that has urgency like red? I understand why they are underlined (people who are colorblind) but why blue? Well this article has an compact history of the blue. It's not very thrilling but i do think it's a nice example of chance. There was probably some reason as to why they actuallu used this color but it seems that it was just mostly luck
I wonder how much design trends where just kind of luck. Like most tools the internet has become almost unanimous with it's form. Most things will stay this way forever but that doesn't mean the death of everything.
Stagnation doesn't mean decay.
Post 3: a brand new day
This is a post that talks about Buffy.
i just finished buffy the vampire slayer season 1. Buffy was one of those shows where i knew about it but never really knew about it. It aired just before i was born and didn't have any reruns on tv where i grew up. It was still popular i guess but more for people who where already fifteen when i was baby. But why then would i want to watch it? Well! it's simple. I was curious! I hear a lot of people (millenials) talk about it online and i wanted to know why all of them still liked this show. So in the beginning of last year i booted up the first season.... And i thought it sucked (vampire joke).
The show itself was kind of boring. i mean i expected it to be kind of dusty but man those first episodes don't make me giddy for more. The vibe of the show was there. It reminded me of early new-who with the cheap, but good looking effects. The dorky humor, the banter and the mystery/monster of the week. But then it didn't really grab me. I couldn't put my finger on it really. So i put it on pause. Until i picked it up again last week.
There where two reasons as to why i re-started Buffy. The first was because a good friend of mine started watching it from the beginning and she seemed to enjoy most of it. The second reason was because of the movie 'i saw the tv glow'. Wich is about a duo of teens getting really into a buffy type of show. This movie portrayed some of the same aesthetics of a buffy type of show and it really got me itchin for more. So i restarted where i left off. And now i got it! I think it's also because i knew what kind of show this was now. Like i knew what to expect. And i knew what kind of people were really into it. So it framed more of the humor and characters. Gave it some life outside the actual show. I could also talk about it with the friend i mentioned, wich really helps. i feel like this show was perfect when it came out and is thus perfect to watch as somehting that already came out. Idk if that makes sense. What i mean by this is, watching older stuff for the first time can be hard sometimes. But when it is as media defining as buffy i feel like i can connect several dots. All the things that got influenced by buffy now make a little more sense. Also wondering how much power rangers/super sentai or kamen rider influenced buffy. How do action shows of that era not be influenced by those? I guess i can also see kung fu movies doing that but this feels very power rangers.
Post 4: a summer in review (part 1 of many maybe)
Summer is almost over. I am writing this on 25/08/2025. So here are some thoughts on the past two three months.
but first some general reviews...
MONSTER ATTACK for the PS2
click on the title for the moby games page of monster attack.
Monster attack for the playstation 2 is the first game in the earth defense force series. A series that is like a video game described by an old person. You shoot, you kill and you blow up stuff. It is perfectly simple and janky. I played it in one sitting while listening to a podcast. The game revolves around an alien/monster invasion where ou play as one guy who shoots the monsters. That is pretty much it. You just run around and kill every enemy on screen to progress. What is cool about this game is the scale of everything and the destructability of everything. Shoot a building and it crumbles, shoot a ship and it crashes, shoot a giant enemy ant and it dies. it's a satisfying gameplay loop. You think you are overwhelmed but then you just go crazy and shoot the shit out of everything that moves and it works. The game also has a two player mode wich i really want to play some day. I think this would work perfectly with a buddy or partner. Maybe even get stoned before you play and just chillax.
With that being said i do have to say this game shows its age and budget. This is a double a game, whatever that really means, and it feels like it. Movement is slow and clunky, the original controller setup is weird and un-intuitive. The game reuses enemies constantly etc. I personally feel like this is charming. They made a fun game and that is all they where trying to do. Nothing too fancy. just plug and play fun. So if you are in the market for something special that is nothing new pick this up! Last year the sixth edition of EDF came out so you can also play that. it looks about the same but has a little more meat on its bone i think.
INSERT CREDIT on youtube
When i listen to podcasts its probably about movies or video games. this one is no exception. But what makes this one so tasty?? Well the people and the format of course! The show is a question filled hangout sesh with some video game experts. I would rec the 400th episode of their show. It's about game developers and who they think are the best, so it gives you a good idea about the type of people they are. the format of the show really lends to some varried discussion and i also appreciate their selection of guests. Some of them put me on to some real ass shit and i'm happy to have found a new podcast that i can non stop listen to. It used to be the let's fight a boss podcast (the one with supereyepatch wolf in it). Now it's insert credit!
WORKING AT A BAR
If you never worked at a service job before, you should! If possible of course. I think this is one of those summer jobs that feel like a summer job. I worked at a bar opperated by the city and it was like a hangout spot for people in their late thirtees/middle fourties. Service jobs can suck sometimes and i think i'm lucky that i never had a shitty boss or anything. Still i think everybody should work at a service job once for at least two months to get an idea of what it's like. Some people really get it twisted that i'm there for them wich i am really not.
NEGATIVE SPACE
After finishing 'frisk' by Dennis Cooper earlier this year i yearned for somehting in the same vein as his ventures, that wasn't as explicitly graphic as his books. Not that Negative space isn't graphic, but frisk is really something. Negative Space follows three teens who all live in the same town. They go to parties, get high, sleep around etc. etc. But then freaky stuff starts happening! It's a pretty farmilliar set up. What sets negative space apart for me is that most of the horrible stuff in it. Especially the horror of addiction and losing someone to this addiction. How a town can just kind of ignore this person because they are their own problem, and how addiction doesn't really stop at just you. It can create trauma that will stay with people for the rest of their lives and it is genuinly haunting.
ROCKY
Rocky is obviously a very succesfull series. I never got into it, mostly because i really dislike the eigthies but also because i thought Sylvester stalone was kinda a guys guy. But then i saw his paintings and i thought 'hmmmm, maybe he just loves boxing'. And he does!! The movie doesn't really have a lot of boxing though. It shows boxing more as a challenge to yourself. the opponent obviously matters but it's very much about you as well. The struggle is the most important part. And then BOOM the match. That is how boxing goes in this movie. And it makes Rocky compelling enough. I did not like how he treated Adrian. That was really creepy. The second movie also really treats her like doo-doo. What stuck with me where the little folks populating Rocky's life. Theyre all trying to get somewhere and it mostly works out for them. Every win is a win for everybody. Kinda suprised that this series got to where it's at.
